I got a new toolbox because my old new toolbox broke already. It lasted 2 weeks.
Its steel, so this one should last even though it too is from harbor freight.
It holds what I need it to and it was $25, isnt that what matters?
Ive amassed quite the toolkit, especially considering I started out 8 months ago with only a couple screwdrivers and an incomplete socket set that was probably older than me.

Why is this torque wrench not in a case and I really hope it is set at 0 right now. *ominous glare*

mine doesn’t have a case either, sadly.

Everyone starts somewhere.

Sadly, it didn’t come with a case. And yes its set to 0

I doubt I can fit anything else in there. Just now I had to take out my drill and I sold one of my torque wrenches to a friend that came over

Congratulations. We all start somewhere. I am up to my sixth box. Primary ones are 5 feet tall. Secondary ones hold seldom used tools, duplicate tools, specialty tools and loaner tools.

I only have 3 metric wrenches (14mm, 15mm, 8mm) and a full set of sae wrenches. Next on my list is to get some metric wrenches

I happen to be in excess of Metric stuff. Let me see what I have tomorrow and if you pay shipping by USPS it’s yours.

Sears is having a big tool sale. You might be able to pick up some stuff.

Yup, you werent the only one either. The base is still good on the old one, but the top is cracked around the handle and I wouldnt trust the hinge anymore. I took the lid off. I think Im gonna use the bottom half of the old box as a basin to store my wash, wax and microfiber stuff.

Just be careful with the latch, that’s likely its weak point.
When it’s time for an upgrade, I suggest Craigslist. For $25, I got a beautiful old Proto cantilevered toolbox. It’s built like a brick shithouse, and even has a cool green wrinkle paint job on it.

I’m the opposite. My big roll around is full of metric tools and I have a single drawer (in my small roll around) of SAE.

You’re living life right.
I have plans to acquire a lightly used Big Ass Snap-On Toolbox from the list of Craig, and then turn my existing boxes (one each small and large Kobalt stack sets) into specialty boxes. The small stack will likely become welding/metalworking tools, and the large stack will become test/measurement and specialty tools.
I also have 2 plastic file boxes full of off-brand/questionable quality and duplicates that I call “track box 1” and “track box 2”. I’ve managed to do an engine swap in the pits at a lemons race w/ just those boxes.

Hope this one serves you well!
After years of tool collecting, I finally broke down and bought a rolling tool chest. Local Craigslist had either cheap Craftsman boxes of dubious origin (why are there so many “new in box?”) or old used professional ones that were still out of my price range. So I settled on one from Costco which had great reviews.
Since April I’ve had four of them delivered, each damaged or defective in a different way. Drawers that didn’t latch properly, or frames bent, or what have you. The first really bad experience I’ve had with Costco.
So it's not just Harbor Freight, is I guess what I'm saying.

Any other tools on your wish list? I’ll keep you in mind as I reorganize my garage. :-)
